Is your website costing you customers?
Jake
If your site is slow or hard to use on a phone, it probably is. People who give up on your site usually call the next business in the search results.
Speed matters a lot here. Google found back in 2016 that 53% of mobile visits ended when a page took longer than 3 seconds to load.
Below are four signs your site is losing you business, plus what we do about each one.
It's slow
Paste your address into Google's PageSpeed Insights and look at the phone results. If your main content takes more than 2.5 seconds to show up, Google says it needs work.
Every site we build scores 95 or higher on Google Lighthouse's performance test at launch. I wrote about how we get there in our post on LCP.
It's hard to use on a phone
Pull up your site on your phone and try to find your hours or call you. If you have to pinch and zoom, your customers will give up too.
We design the phone version first. Then we make it work on bigger screens.
It looks like everyone else's
Templates are popular, so a lot of local businesses end up with the same look. That makes it harder to stand out.
We start each design from your business and your customers. There's no template to fight with.
It's hard to update
If changing your hours means waiting on a developer or digging through plugin settings, the site goes stale. Old info makes people wonder if you're still open.
We set you up with a simple editor for the things you change most. On our Care plan, you can send us the change and we'll make it for you.
How we work
We build in two weeks for a fixed price. Our Launch Site package is $2,500. It includes:
- Five pages
- A contact form with spam protection
- Basic SEO setup, so Google can find and read your pages
- A year of hosting
Every site is also built to WCAG 2.1 AA, the main standard for making sites usable by people with disabilities. You can see all the options on our packages page.
